This project included cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of approximately 8,750-feet of combined sewer, guniting of approximately 10,000-square yards of combined sewer, and replacing approximately 32,855-feet of combined sewer throughout Jersey City. The work also included associated sewer cleaning, internal television inspection, maintenance of sewage flows, traffic control, utility relocation, and other appurtenant work.
The work posed challenges in having to be performed within and adjacent to high profile areas as well as within dense resident populations. The existing combined sewers in this project consisted of 12-inch through 136-inch by 87-inch diameter pipes and sewer chambers. Approximately 34,055-feet of water main relocations and replacements were completed on pipe systems consisting of VCP, PVC, reinforced concrete pipe, ductile iron pipe, brick, and concrete chambers. Manhole rehabilitation and replacement, catch basin replacement, and water main and other utility infrastructure relocation was performed as needed and directed.
