Spiniello installed the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining with ultraviolet light for a 24-inch diameter force main in Baltimore County, Maryland. Prior to the rehabilitation work, Spiniello installed a bypass to re-route sanitary sewer flows around the work area. This bypass included a wet tap of the existing prestressed concrete pressure pipe, a second tap to install a line stop to re-route sanitary flows, and the removal and reinstallation of one of the force main pipe segments.
Additional challenges included working in off-road wooded easement areas and protecting adjacent wetlands. Spiniello had to coordinate all work with nearby light rail, Baltimore County Solid Waste Facilities and Baltimore County Pump Station operations, which all had to maintain operations in the work area during the project.
