Employee Spotlight: Jeromy Trujillo

From Security Guard to Supervisor: Meet Jeromy Trujillo
The Next Generation of Field Supervision | Spiniello Infrastructure West

Fourteen years ago, Jeromy Trujillo started at Spiniello as a security guard. Today, he is a Supervisor with Spiniello Infrastructure West (SIW), leading crews on some of the most demanding pipe rehabilitation work in the country.

Jeromy is the first leader featured in The Next Generation of Field Supervision, our weekly series introducing the people shaping SIW’s field leadership.

Built from within

Jeromy spent his first two years at Spiniello in security before moving into the field and working his way up to Supervisor. To him, that path says everything about the company.  “Starting out as a security guard and working my way up to Supervisor really proves how Spiniello builds within,” he says. “It gives opportunities to people who work hard and have pride in their job, and it takes chances on people who usually don’t get those kinds of opportunities.”

Solving problems at a new scale

One of Jeromy’s favorite projects is Joint Outfall B Phase 1 in 2017. The crew sliplined a 144-inch pipe with a 126-inch liner, a larger diameter than they had ever sliplined before. With no playbook for a pipe that size, the team had to work out new methods to clean and line it successfully. Jeromy calls it one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs of his career.

One team, coast to coast

Jeromy also made his first trip to the East Coast to help slipline the DC Water Potomac Interceptor Sewer Line, working side by side with Spiniello’s East Coast crew. “Combining the West Coast crew and East Coast crew and being successful really showed me how amazing it is to be a part of Spiniello,” he says.

Beyond the jobsite

Jeromy is from Lancaster, California, where he lives with his wife, their two daughters, and their baby boy. Off the job, you’ll find him on the golf course with his daughters or cheering on the Raiders. Ask him about his greatest accomplishment, and the answer is simple: becoming a dad.

Check back next week to meet the next leader from SIW.
